Surfside Beach Real Estate Market
Home buyers who don’t mind walking across Ocean Boulevard to the beach could save hundreds of thousands of dollars compared to their neighbors right on the beach. Another factor in the wide price range can be what stands between the house and the ocean—whether it be nothing or a multi-story building. On the lower end of the spectrum—and a few yards off the beach—buyers can expect to find raised, two-story houses with about 3,000 square feet of living space.
Many homes at the waterfront are painted in pink, teal, orange, mint, and other colors that help give Surfside Beach a pleasant, homey feel. A new, beach-style house four or five blocks off the beach—though still a walk of just a few minutes—could be an even greater value than its waterfront cousins, depending on its size. For example, a four-bedroom raised beach-style home would like be priced somewhere in the low $300s. Such a home on Millwood Drive—four blocks from the beach—would be a five-minute stroll to the Surfside Beach pier.
Although Surfside Beach is popular with home owners who prefer a quieter atmosphere to Myrtle Beach, it is still convenient to shops, restaurants and other attractions that make the Myrtle Beach area so popular.
